Distant

Distant

A Poem by Moonflower

I close my eyes

So I can see

the colors

swirling and reaching

out

into

some unknown

distance

A Kaleidescope

of shaded

 memories

s t r e t c h

into torturous immensity

My

heart

breaks

with each

pulsing beat

of remembrance

crumbling down and down

deep

down

into my soul

And I know

she's still

screaming

louder

but its just that sweet and simple

humming

in my ears

ear drums

bursting

out with

chords and fractures of

self.mutilation

I'm breaking the sound barrier

.it burns.

Hurts

so exsquisitly

The blood is pulsing down

down my veins

There isn't a release

not.any.more

If there ever has been

I never knew

God, I swear

I never knew

what it was I'm really here to do

I gave up

so easily, I didn't even

find the missing

piece.

Then you told me,

in blatant

condescendence

that its just lieing

there

on the floor,

just right there on

the floor

My eyes

they were color blind

and I never tried to open them wide

Just a

little

wider

I cracked the door

open

to see what was out side

because

I had never really

wondered

that before

before what happened,

happened

my mind raced with

wonder

and then I saw the

branches

Her eyes up in the trees,

gleaming and

Golden

Like that light I saw once

so far up in the sky

And my Lord,

I swear she

was looking right at me

When I was standing there behind

the door

It was red,

the color of rabbits blood

stained and chipping off

the wood

And I saw a

round white

moon

Hanging in a southern sky

Blanketing a distant mountain

Like a dream

But I saw it with my eyes.

Thank you for the beautiful poem. I like the places you took me with your words. The many statements stood out in your poem. Sometime we can see forever and sometime we can see too much.

A outstanding poem. Thank you.

Very well written again. This poem is really effective because of the set up and wording you use. Great job.

It's simple yet has so much depth to it. I can feel how much emotion was put into it. I loved this, I'm a masochist and most of my poems are about heartbreak and love. So this fits right in, haha. Love can find a way back into our lives though, thankfully.. even if for a brief time.
Great write, I look forward to reading more!

No it's not to long. It's a lovely poem. I enjoyed reading it.

gorgeous intensity unwinds the length of the poetic~ the length enriches it~ =)~

I think a poem is long as it needs to be love, never let anyone dishearten you in regards to that! lol
This is awesome and I loved the stretch on s t r e t c h lol
Awesome!

I don't think it's too much.. the imagery was powerful. Nice write.
I would suggest looking over for spelling mistakes/ typos though.
Good piece.

Well, as long as it is good, it won't mind if it is long!

I think the length is fine. Did you mean to spell kaleidescope with a c?
