Unanswered Salutations

Unanswered Salutations

A Poem by Moonflower

You're a cockroach

Skittering across the exorcism of

this

Inebriated cataclysm

Dust falling into those

morbid cracks,

overgrown ivy

Winding

Six legs on severed

segments

A hard shell of

gleaming toxins

Your breath is

barbwire for

my soul

Don't scrape the

spine

bone against steel

and bloody

recollections of

unforgiving

escalation

Will we die this way?

Wrapped up in

an unholy extension

of

Hate, tongues

sliced by contempt

That snake coiled around

your legs

with a beating heart

and

Onyx eyes

Peering into the spirit

casting

shapes and colors

out into

some unknown disintegration

of my

own

mind

I blasted implemented

crucifictions

of diamond shapes

thought maybe

those

echoes would

burst into

chords and fractures

of

time, space, and a

grim salutation

IS there anybody out there?

I've screamed into

existence so

many

times

Shouting out into

molecules and atoms

beaming

electric currents of

ignorant sensibility

There are no rays of light

in the

deep, dark carapace of my

brain

We find only emptiness

in the

fullest of minds

I feel this poem is a battle to see purpose and reason in a life. I like how you write. It is like a Dante's book. Must read each line and understand.
"I've screamed into
existence so
many
times"
Most of us don't understand. I write my grief on paper. Few in my life pay much attention to what is happening in their world and life. I like the ending. We need people with spirit and life. Ain't many left. Too many people just are waiting for death. That is very sad. A outstanding poem.

Interesting imagery you've painted here, Ms. That snake coiled around

your legs

with a beating heart

and

Onyx eyes

I especially loved this stanza here. What a remarkably confusing piece of work.

This is amazing! It should really, really, be a song. It reminds me of both William S. Burroughs and Nine Inch Nails, which is a good thing.

Geez...this is certainly in the realm of "Hardcore" writing.
Your thoughts and images were like a storm at sea...
Wave after wave of aggravated assault...each hitting harder
than the one before. Excellent teknik here!

I found many things in this poem. A lot of anger at the beginning. Great description of many things in the middle. A search for answers at the end. I like your poetry. You know how to twist-up words and make a poem interesting and challenging to read. Hard to be content in a life. We must overcome many things. Hardest part to overcome is our anger to be able to move on in a life. Complete poem was outstanding. Thank you. I liked it the second time.

Oh even I am not sure...except that it is...something remarkable...for it slices through me...I think it is of the pointiest barbs of existence...finding your own purpose in life...maybe not finding the prescribed paths as being adequate ...those toxic people..who turn you off of the path....hate, that wretched enemy....oh...wonder takes me...it is..so calculated...

poetry can be defined by the traditional categories (you know like sonnets, villanelles, ballads etc) or it could be defined in a genre-like fashion (realist, surreal, fantasy etc) or in some other way quantified. The process would basically be a matter or establishing some sort of datums as a constant and identifying variables in relation to that constant. Or it could defy quantification in the sense that there is no prevailing or dominant structure. Some attempt and satisfy, others achieve mediocre results and still others fall pitifully short. You excel in this from what i have seen so far. Your strength is the articulation of complex and undeniably real attitudes, emotions, mindsets and other constituents of the mental and sensual landscape. Art is the QUALITY of communication and the achievement of adequate technical quality to effect emotional impact. Your missives are hitting "bulls eyes" in the sentient universe.
