There comes a Time

There comes a Time

A Poem by Moonflower
"

Let it be

"

There comes a time in life

when we all must say good bye

When we must look at these things

and suddenly know why

Oh I am standing on this earth,

watching all these things go by

And there aren’t many reasons,

yeah there aren’t many times

Where you could think and wonder,

yeah we let these moments fly

Oh my loving gods, please, no don’t let it die

Don’t let that flame flicker out and silently pass by

Oh mother I am worried that the time has come and gone

That we all have whispered yes, surely the moment has come

And I stand above the ground

with my eyes cast up to the skies

And oh how could I ponder at those

immaculate blue eyes

The way they pulse and shimmer

with that ultimate demise

The fact there comes

a time in life when

we all must say goodbye

And if life was made of numbers

how could they not pass for lies

The tender weave of intricate

humanities and crimes

The white sheet of a mast

silently gliding by

These moments are all there

racing through my solemn mind

And so I left the embers burning,

smoking for all to see

And in a rounded circle embraced

the colors of our spirituality

So many hearts have pounded

and embraced that steady beat

I was overcome with a love

that was unbeknownst to me

Oh my loving gods, just please, don’t let me die

I have not had time to wander, nor time to say goodbye

And in these fleeting moments,

I see all I have not seen

And I wonder if you’ll grant me

some more time to let me see

Let my frail heart ponder

at life’s atrocities,

so I can dig and discover

All that sets my soul, High and Free

i felt this one, i can picture this and sympathise with the longing of that peaceful moment or even the stressful one that ends yet you long for it, as in a person, but must let it all go to embrace a new, yet i since a near death experience toward the end and seeing your unfullfilled and you wanting more in life to fill yourself with more of these moments that make you feel and makes us who we are may it be happy or sad, its something or maby thats just me

So many unanswered questions here. This experience of yours really rocked my world. This is the work of a poet who is not afraid to get their hands dirty. You went to a few places that are scary to think about. Perhaps we should all change now before it is too late. It would be a beautiful world if we all cared enough about the true purpose of life before its that time. It is right in front of us. This poem provoked a lot of thought about when and why we should let go of things...and more importantly...if.

This came to me as much as a well-constructed lyrical piece. Perhaps the Floydian type? And also as a Whitman poem, only less the formal note. In any view, I enjoyed the read. I failed to get some of the metaphors, but that's just my lack of active mind. Pardon me, I'm down with a head-ache. :)

Keep writing.

I perceive it as a spiral upwards, and the destruction that must come with all creation...there has to be a little destruction, yet at the same time the creation hasn't really ended yet, and there is a fear to let go of that creation for perhaps another love will not come along. Love is a game of being pleasurable effect of another and one has to of course consent in the first place that another can have this power over them and create such a profound effect, but we forget that and we aren't always sure if it is a spiral upwards...or a spiral downward! So these timeless and familiar quandaries are posed artfully herein. Your writing has the strength of being very real and it is easy for another to say, "Oh, she feels like I do about this." It would make a great song if that wasn't what you and in mind to begin with.

I believe it's an undeniable aspect of the human spirit... no matter how dark times are, we still believe that things will get better. We have to, or have no reason to go on. And time and time again, if we hang on long enough then we get to see that we were right...

such brillance within these lines ~

"And if life was made of numbers how could they not pass for lies
The tender weave of intricate humanities and crimes
The white sheet of a mast silently gliding by
These moments are all there racing through my solemn mind"

deep thoughts from a timeless heart ..
