Escape

Escape

A Poem by Moonflower
"

The landscape of your mind

"

Do you remember

when I told you

All those things about myself

I couldn't look

you in the eyes

they drifted to the shelf

Where I kept the things

I hid

From everyone else

Is that your picture

on my wall

Curling, dusty edges

You weren't smiling

but I cherish

Tearful smudges,

Do you still stand

the same,

Your eyes glassy and stained?

I thought I saw you

the other day

but then it was only

your ghost passing by

With features all

black and gray

He didn't smile

Yeah he could only fade

And then it rained

dripping puddles, glisten

in the moonlight

Cause we're not

alright

But then we never really

expected to be

Were you yourself when

you sat beside me?

love the tactile drips through this grey world , melancholic but your voice of honesty - realism - that softly speaks - right or wrong , this is life

Ooh! I really like this! It is kinda creepy. Good job!

Good work. The mind trips on the ghostly shadow of a past love. Sad, while at the same time recognizing life goes on.

You are such a beautiful beast of bleakness! Gray in bright tones that gloss from your page. That second stanza... Gawd! ...Curly dust edges ...Pure genius!
I miss you so, night illuminator. I miss poetry that rends like this.

I like your rhymes in this piece, it has a rhythm that would make it a great spoken word poem, I feel. Nice descriptions too, very good writing. Great work.
