A Poem by Moonflower
"

rock n roll

"

You got that long hair

You got that dark stare

that hides the color

of your eyes

you got a way that

leaves me sad and yet

I don't ever wanna say

good bye

You got that dirty car

You got that long scar

that makes me wonder

where you have been

You got a silent heart

I don't know where to start

but I hope you come

around again

Yeah I hope I see you

'round again

You've got a thick skull

You've got a kinder soul

that's never gonna let me in

You've got a tough heart

but that's no way to start

Are ya ever gonna let me in

Are ya ever gonna let me in

This is very very good. I usually don't read "song lyrics" cuz I'm no expert, but this was particular clever and rhetorically luring. The contrast of thick skull/kinder soul - the offrhyme and imagery - very much brings this character to life.

This piece also plays on the "hooker with a heart of gold" theme (this is the male version - the hardened who can be redeemed by love)

But this doesn't offer any resolution or any vindication, which I like. Chances are, this character has already allowed too much in and has been betrayed. But I'll get off the arm chair. Great read!

now this i could see being a punk or hardcore song. its got a roundness to it that keeps balanced in form and an earnestness that could make anyone want to recite/sing the words.

Mysterious and direct at the same time. Desperate and blunt. Well worded, I like the way you use contrasting features as a tool.
