The Grief Unspoken

The Grief Unspoken

A Poem by Dev

It’s so hard to let go of the years

The memories that brought me smiles and tears

Leaving behind a piece of my heart

Just certainly is not easy but hard

Every night seemed a year long

I cried but I woke up strong

The girl whose dreams were broken

Battled the sorrows unspoken

Isn’t there a light at the end of the tunnel?

Isn’t there a smile, waiting at all?

Bleeding I carried the pieces that’s left

Then buried all the hurt that I felt

And then the light shone bright above

Unexpected it fell but how?

It’s taking me to a faraway place

Now I see hope, a smile and a touch to end this race.
