Miss July

Miss July

A Poem by Dianah
"

Will the bunny escape?

"

She stood surrounded, in pretty blonde shadows
eclipsed by beauty just a mousey brown fringed freak
lost in a permanent frown. She wore nothing
but frustration as nations of fools danced
to the beat of a different drum, watch them come
out of the woodwork, armies of mice sacrifice
their lives to be fat cat's playthings, little bunnies
earn lots of money if she dyes her hair blonde
she'll knock them sideways.Those bombshells
sizzle but sometimes fizzle out too young,
Got to lie, live up to the image of Miss July...
but she misses that mousey brown girl.
She wants her life back, heads for the outback,
sets up a home for unwanted animals
down an old dirt track.
She stands surrounded by beauty,
eclipsed by no one,the bunny set free,
contentment found in her sanctuary.
