My Final Adieu

My Final Adieu

A Poem by D. L. Vaccaro

Call me out like a passing joy,
Release the smoke from its tomb.
Forget me in your bag of tricks,
Crawl back inside your virgin womb.

Call me in like an inverted hill,
Pushing down daisies as time floats by.
I know that my description fits the bill,
Killer in board shorts, waiting - hoping to die.

Don’t you die on me like Kelly Blue,
Don’t you lie to me or be untrue.
If you leave me I won’t leave you,
If you kill me, I will be born anew.

Call me up to the room in the sky,
Clouds are beneath you and you know time.
Tell me that you always tried,
But ya know your word ain’t worth a dime.

Don’t you die on me like Kelly Blue,
The girl that I used to pursue,
Leave me at your début, I won’t leave you,
If you kill me now, it would be overdue.

Call me to your tangerine sides,
Let my last sight be your clear black eyes.
Your love is an amusement park ride,
Don’t tell me you always tried… always tried… always tried

Squeeze the trigger but don’t swallow the pill,
This life sucks, I think I have had my fill.
Then again I don’t want to leave you,
But then again this is my final adieu.
