Weeping Willow

Weeping Willow

A Chapter by Dina

I am too shy to hold eye contact with men
I still see myself as that strange girl
With odd interests
And a vivid inner world
I am not keen to fitting in
I have not once been trendy

So it is hard to meet and greet
And allow someone to sweep me off my feet
I am a weeping willow that will sing to you in the quiet of the storm
I prefer you sit under me
And slowly, deform
Until you are as grounded and naked as I am

Like a kitten, loud noises and vibrant displays scare me lately
I am more myself at night
Luminated by the star lights
When the city is less busy
And I've had some wine in me

I know at this rate
Many will pass me by
But I hang on to hope that one day
Someone will properly take the time
To learn the ways of the weeping willow
