Insatiable Appetites Equate to Destruction

Insatiable Appetites Equate to Destruction

A Poem by Dina

Eventually men will have to take responsibility for the monsters they make out of women

By choosing with the thing between their legs

Or leading with ego

Or triangulating people

Eventually, this gesture will have to be acknowledged as being evil

And should one of their options discover the other

It’s best not to let things go on til the summer

It’s best to put a cap on it swiftly and soon

Because us women, we’re moody, we’re ruled by the moon

It's never a good idea to fight evil with more evil. I hate men, I hate women... but I love people. Empathy transcends these things. It's hard to forgive the abuser, but if we don't we become the same things just in a different way. To break this cycle, sometimes we must sacrifice in a way we will never see come to fruition in our lifetime. I'm an atheist, but I am in love with Jesus because that parable understands how to dissolve the most insidious of tragedy and hatred. Sexism will only be defeated when we accept each other as people and ignore the gender. Something far, far easier said than done.
