Febuary 20th

A Poem by Dindella

Three years at least,
I know so much you're here with me
Wherever our hearts may be.

The sun descends onto the madness of this Earth,
Allowing the moon and stars to revel on your birth.
So they should, I feel you should know, for you shine too bright
To not be one with the stars of the night.

Lost souls head North for you
Even when you are uncertain what to do.
Who else would they follow that'd remain as true
As when their journey began through

All the world has had to offer them?
Their eternal soldier, their win
For every lost battle.
Because few appreciate the scars of a tattle

Opening up about their wounds as well as you do.
And in the madness, even when you feel you are going mad yourself,
There is a calmity and clarity in your existence like a good book off the shelf.

And in that regards,
I could write books about you and your stars,
And like this poem words are never enough
To expose how deep and colorful nor how patchy and rough

You are as a being.
So as my words I've been seeing
Down onto these pages for days
Have been falling short in all ways,

Just know I wouldn't give the world for anyone.
But I would give the world for you.
With love to my eternal sun,
My soldier through and through.

You can say all you want,
There's only one of you.
