Extermination

Extermination

A Poem by Dixie Slaughter

The exterminator had been called
She was sick and tired of this infestation
With the anticipation she was stalled
By the thought of condemnation
The exterminator had been there all along
Never really a person but a solution
She knew she wouldn't be around for long
It was time for her retribution
So with a tight squeeze of the trigger
She would never have to hear another snigger.

Even taking this as tongue-in-cheek - it has a strong sense of hurt and a deep abiding anger.
