Lost ...

Lost ...

A Poem by Brandon Taylor-Black

Collar to the wind, silent agonies fly by
Another "I'm fine" day, lost into the night
The smiles are ever present, the "hi's" and "how's your day"
While hidden beneath the surface are the demons he must face

Walking down a street where all the faces stay the same
A mass of broken pieces in a life he never claimed
A vacant smile welcomes as the demons gnaw away
Today is just an echo of the same s**t yesterday

Vagabond winds that whisper by
Understand not belonging, kin to the cast out
A shell goes through the motions, skin prison for a ghost
As a person he was human, as a human, he was lost...
