Waiting On A Heartbeat

Waiting On A Heartbeat

A Poem by Brandon Taylor-Black

I need to get laid.
To rest.
Put me in a coffin, let my soul ascend
Time bleeds
A femoral flow
Waiting on a heartbeat
With ethereal tones
Fingers linger
Cold to touch
I wish to God this smile I wear, didn't hurt so much
Ghosts vanish
Memories remain
Behind the bars of my prison
They cannot escape ...
