Virago

Virago

A Poem by Brandon Taylor-Black
"

Virago

"

        And so she calls
Chilling shrieks sound through the night
And she calls
Summoning Death's macabre last bite

Virago
Scorned by one so long ago
Failed to heal
Broken heart now turned to stone

Bitter tears
Course down a broken face
Hollow eyes
See the Death of Loves embrace

Virago
Lives to feel this tragedy
Tortured by a bitter past
Lost her faith in humanity

With hands clutched
She screams to the angry skies
Rage abound
Thunder silenced her angry cries

In pain she howled
As lightning struck her aching heart
Silenced cries
As she was torn apart

Virago
Now laying silently
Virago
At last she's at peace

Virago

Dear Draven,

I really like this piece. A wonderful tribute sung in epic style to the life of some strong woman, a "Virago", dragged down by life's callous miseries. It continues your running commentary on life's woes and the final peace awaiting us all. This time it was done, however, by just telling the story of the trials of someones life without any need of directing the reader to any conclusion.

Another wonderful write.

Best regards,

Rick
