Actors, Are We

Actors, Are We

A Poem by Brandon Taylor-Black
"

The world is a stage, and we each play a part

"

Actors, are we
'Pon the world, our stage
Play my cue so I might enter
Charm the audience of nameless faces with rhyme and facades
For who truly knows me when I am but playing a role?
An actor
Just a face in the cut throat world of life
waiting for my  Oscar, my Emmy
waiting for my curtain to fall
There'll be no encore, no bravo
Just another namesless face to die
to be forgotten like a leaf off a tree that falls in the autumn breeze
Actors, are we
'pon a stage
Playing our roles,
Celluloid heros in a real world
But what is real 'pon my stage?
Taking my cue from directions?
Living my life for  the entertainment of others,
and for what purpose?
Just to be lost, forgotten in a sea of celluloid
Actors , are we
So let the show go on......

I write for pleasure, and for therapeutic reasons...it relaxes me. Why exist in the real world when my own world holds such splendor? That's enough about me though, please, read away, and if you f.. more..
