we've all had embarrassing moments like these. never be afraid of expressing your feelings, even if you look like a complete idiot.

hello Miss, 

I have come a long way.

I think its about time for me to

say what I need to say.

excuse my inexperience,

I'm incredibly shy.

I'm a little bit curious about

how to express my mind.

 all air in my lungs was lost when I first saw you,

you swooned me.

I needed to move closer before the

beginning of the movie.

I moved a seat, 

then another, then another.

you started to notice me, 

and I started to shudder.

the trailers are almost over,

I needed to act fast.

 if I talked during the movie,

I'd look like a jackass.

your one seat away, 

I'm paralyzed with fear.

you flash me a smile,

I'm grinning ear to ear.

the moment is nigh,

there is no going back.

I open my mouth to say hi,

and my damn voice cracked.

the audio started to roar, 

the movie began.

I'm so embarrassed my cheeks are sore, 

I almost got up and ran.

the movie ended,

you left quickly.

I just sat there,

thinking "god just kill me".

that's when I noticed you left your phone,

I needed to make haste.

I thought my chances were blown,

to make up my past disgrace.

so here you go,

I'm sure you would have missed it...

tonight's moon has a beautiful glow,

you know what, I should just quit.

goodbye, I hope you have a lovely day,

that movie was a hoot!

what did I want to tell you?

oh, that's simple.

If you'd substitute a library card (or something similar) for that phone, this could've been my story from 1962. I had to grin while reading, because it seemed like you'd stolen my playbook. The movie theater is exactly the place where I made my first romantic moves on girls--one seat closer at a time. A great little poem/story--I love it!
