The Lone Wolf Awaits Part 2

The Lone Wolf Awaits Part 2

A Poem by DogDrawler

He listens... He is dying.
The wolf who searched for love.
But didn't find it.
He slips into darkness.
Farther... and farther...
The snow flakes move east.
A front from British Columbia batters him
Hypothermia makes him shut his eyes
He loved his journey and that's all that matters

But then as he slips a wolf appears
It's a female, also a lone wolf
She sees his soon-to-be lifeless body
She reads his soul
"This wolf has died searching for love but he didn't so he loved his journey instead"
She felt bad about him
She licked him on the cheek and told his soul:
"I wish I have came sooner. But remember I'll always love you."
Just before his final breath, he smiled

I love wolves too. This is a write and puts them in the light they so deserve. So you are not only a talented writer but artist as well. That is an awesome combination.

A very tragic story in this poem. It's very gripping and one hopes for a happy ending.

Remarkable poem. I like how you combine the emotions of love and tragedy so well in this piece. It helps put emphasis on each.
