Moonlight Musings Heard Only by Mother Earth

Fireflies paint light streaks in the night sky,
Artists unfettered by opinions.

Nature is soothing, but uncomfortable.
Her silence means you can hear your own thoughts.

Without society’s constant distraction,
It is easy to consider all of your failures.

Unpleasant memories are always the most vivid.
As I grow older, I become more cynical.

I find myself asking, on those quiet evenings,
What if I will never succeed in life?
