You Were A Duckling

You Were A Duckling

A Poem by Annabelle Lee
"

A couple of years ago I went through some metamorphosis, and I am starting to see the same kind of thing in one of my friends.

"
I know you
I see you
I feel your pain
I get it
Trust me
We're the same
You were the duckling
Pushed away by the others
You weren't near as pretty,
Or graceful
As you mother
You didn't know
Until just recently
You were different
Because you're unique
And all of a sudden
You embody
Beauty and Grace
You aren't
used to
your new face
But before all the ugly feathers are gone
Remember
You were a Duckling before the swan
