Let Me

Let Me

A Poem by Annabelle Lee

Let not the widows weep under shrouds
Let not the rain pour from the clouds
Let not one wrist drip its blood, thick and sweet
Let not the world drip down around me

Let not the artist be more tortured than must
Let not the actor be one to mistrust
Let not the writer cease to speak his own
Let not the children run out of their home

Let not the insignificant matters of today
Stop you from paving your own way
Let not a person keep you from being free
I want to write
So let me

Only thing I would change, personally, is the last line I would put 'So let me be'...just because it flows nicer with the syllable rythm. Otherwise, perfection!

Speaking out for freedom of speech/press? There are certain inalienable rights that we must be allowed. :3

THank you very much so
This is very soothing. It reads like something from the Bible. I am not sure of syntax of this line:

Let not the artist be more tortured than must

Did you mean more than must?

Good job on this one.
