Es Lebe Freiheit!

Es Lebe Freiheit!

A Poem by Dom
"

When all is lost, what then?

"

It is 1944, The Atlantic Ocean...

Alarm!

The crew man thier stations, the Captain at the ready.

Everyone desperately trying to manouvre the U-boat out of range of the depth charges.

But it's too late, you've dived too deep.

The crew at the engine room have fallen, and the air is running out.

The enemy have rendered you immobile.

Escape is impossible.

The Captain congratulates everyone on thier bravery, skill and honour they have shown to him and to thier Fatherland, and to the German Navy. However, he solemely regrets that everyone on board is going to die.

Sitting back, you think of everything you hold dear: your home, your country, the love of your life.

All gone now.

You ponder, how it came to this.

How could death come for us, when we were not yet men?
