Just One Last Look KKD

A Poem by Donna DeLong Matthews aka Gold Pen Ghost
"

My final submission on a site I have been a member of for many years is shutting down.

"

Just One Last Look

The time has come

I never thought would be

My final walk thru the halls

Of the home that set me free

As thru the Garden I go

With each one here I talk

I gently touch each rose

And remember our walks

So many memories

Most happy but some sad

Remembering all the joy and tears

That we all have had

Words of the heart that we all shared

Will never be forgotten you see

But we shared so much more

It was the very lives of you and me

As I take my last peek

My emotions do rapidly flow

All the people and times treasured

I will never let go

I say a prayer

As turn to walk away

Please God don’t let

Our friendships stray

Steve I so thank you

For keeping Albert’s Dream alive

But

I’ll let you get the lights

And lock the door

I just can’t bear to see the dark.

Good bye Starlite…

ღ God asked me how long I planned on keeping you in my life.

I smiled and said...

How do I choose between always and forever...

But then I have found that's really not up to me... ღ
