a rose (protection over light)

i am a simple rose

i have no roots and forever in the dark i stay

red and black with a touch of green

thorns cover my stem

lonley on the forest floor


cold n wet and dark are all the places i have been

i have given up the light for the protection

a choice  so hard to bare

forever will my leaves be torn and petals bleed

i fear
