brown journey

brown journey

A Poem by DorothyParker

there stands upon the last breath
brownish yellow leaf.

it touches ground to welcome death
returning favors.

it knows midspring dance will do
upon accustomed earth.

Rebirth the lost souls covered in crushed salt
stripped of mirth.
