Sadness

Sadness

A Poem by Douglas Crane
"

To gain a different perspective on the darker things that plaque our lives can often be the most rewarding steps to self-discovery.

"
Sadness is
awake always.
Cast as villain,
and made to sit
behind the shine and shimmer,
speaks he a whisper
ceaselessly.
We are told to look away,
but he is meant to save.
He is the home that longs for us;
the friend that waits.
Like a light that lingers from a day spent,
he is the memory
that sprouts enlightenment.
