Of Madness

Of Madness

A Poem by Blake McDuffie

Quietly she crept

Not a noise as she withdrew the blade

Quickly she slashed and hacked

Until all were dead

As she stood in the doorway

I saw the light reflect the blood

A whole town of people gone

My love was as mad as the hatter

On her face a Chelsea Smile

Those who were spared

Turned away and dreamt

Terrible, violent dreams

Of madness and mayhem

Wait, maybe this is backward

Perhaps I am the culprit

Wow, i love this in a creepy sort ot way. I love the flow of it and the imagery you evoke.
I think the title is quite apt...the whole piece much like madness toys with the mind
Great work.
