Halloween

Halloween

A Poem by Blake McDuffie

One dreary Halloween

My friend and I decided we wanted to hear screams

So my friend stuck a razor in my mouth

And cut me a most charming smile, have no doubt

Next he cut off my nose

Giving me a triangular pose

Then he poked out my eyes

By now I was attracting many buzzing flies

After this he opened up the back of my skull

Surely now my senses were dull

Finally he interested a glowing candle

And lifted me by the spine, as a handle

All the children screamed at the sight of my Jack

As for me, my life had faded to black

Felt festive, had an image in my head so here it is. I'll probably be using the idea of carving someone's face into a Jack-o-Lantern in Tales of a Sikow

wow... that was strange... in a really good way though! I have the impression in my mind of someone hung from a tree, with their face cut our like a pumpkin. Really good though! Keep writing.

I absolutely loved this! I'm a total horror lover, and I've never encountered a Jack O' Lantern carved into a human face. Amazing detail. Brilliant writing!
