The Minotaur

The Minotaur

A Poem by Don

As I was walking through the woods I spied a Minotaur
He held a shield and double head axe and he looked fit for war
His features were quite massive as he seemed a beast of strength
He looked as though in battle he’d win no matter what the length

His hooves were large and golden and his legs were thick as trees
He had on heavy armor but could move just like a breeze
His arms were big and muscular and looked as hard as stone
Two enormous horns atop his head were made of solid bone

His neck was very bulky due to his colossal head
His eyes were colored chestnut brown, his tongue a pinkish red
His snout protruded from his face, his nostrils smelled the air
He slowly turned his head my way and then began to stare

I stood there trembling in my pants behind a maple tree
I didn’t know just what to do but I was thinking.....FLEE!
I turned to run but tripped and fell and bumped my stupid head
I was glad when I came to ‘cause I was still in bed
