Okay, so I love your verbs - I like how you use them. They're well placed and very strong. I like the idea and your comparison of it to a map as well as enfolding and comforting wings. I like the pain that slowly turned into love and happiness, and it warms my heart to read it. It makes me smile to read that last stanza.
