Mother Wounds

Mother Wounds

A Poem by Kitsue

Children Lost
Husband Gone
This pain I hold
Goes on and on

Will it never cease
Will it never end
Will I feel this pain forever more
Or will it heal over again

Hell rules
Heaven resigns
I'm being forced to suffer
For someone else's crimes

What did I do
To deserve such scorn
Will I ever love?
Shall I forever be torn?

Will I ever see heaven?
Will I rot in hell?
The bloody organ sings
Shattering the peaceful bell

Thats the pain I hold
Thats the sadness within
My hearts on a wing and a prayer
Breaking down like an engin.

The lights begin to fade
The shadows creep closer
Hatred and fear
Become the stronger opposer

With this pain
I will soon be dead
Because I am a mother
Who's heart is wounded
