The Ballad of the Tortured

The Ballad of the Tortured

A Poem by Cerebriation

Inhuman is what it is
Purely animalistic
Unchecked desperation
Weak, opportunistic

Innocent naivety
Is ignorantly reckless
Unconsciously escalated
Lawlessly infectious

Unstructured dynamics
Undiscerned incompetence
Overlooked and underserved
Dereliction, negligence

Criminality is anything but instant
It's developed
It's established of collective deprivation
Immorality is rarely ever willful
It's instinctive
It's depravity and starvation combined

Evil and malevolence are rarely what is driving
Purely heinous wickedness is rarely turned
These are preternatural, intrinsic, pre-existing traits
Unlike evolved atrocities, can be unlearned

My end to this, you see, is an attempt to garner wisdom
And for freeing grudges bound of fallacy
You mustn't hate he who has already been ostracized and tortured
Or we become the very beast we seek to free

The problem here is not that we beget more war in battle
It's an issue of not knowing what to fight
We must use strategy, analysis, and more thorough in selection
We must be wise and less dependent on our might

Love and kindness, certainly, is scarce and unfamiliar
But equally as such is understanding
Waging war, most certainly, is far too common and familiar
But equally we fight the ground on which we're standing

So find the love but wage your war as well
But kill the evil, spare the hungry and rejected
Fight the problem. Free the tortured from his hell
Free your grudges. Use your love and understanding

Last of all be of forgiveness
However, don't forget the pain
Forgive the man, but not the act
Leave him with wisdom to be gained

Unchecked desperation is what made us.

Love and all that s**t is just another subtle method of evolution stressing reproduction and keeping with what works to further the survival of our species. Ever see a bear eat another animal? It looks like pure atrocity to us but to him it's just dinner. We used to be like that... it wasn't even that long ago.

If everyone forgets that, things will eventually crumble. A weak minded disposition that frets over feelings is an evolutionary flaw. There is no great spirit in the sky, there is no karma, and the world will never be fair if you look at it like you do in this poem.

Did you eat anything meaty recently? It's the same s**t... you just don't have to see it.

Inhuman, to me, is forgetting our past and ignoring the realities of nature.

(war IS survival in an unforgiving world... most combat these days ((post ww2)) is superficial and political and more to the point --- it is manufactured struggle.... sometimes in defense of the very same ideals you put forth in the above writing)
