Machina (Version 2)

Machina (Version 2)

A Poem by Cerebriation
"

Another version of the first. I like this one better.

"
Watch the eyes in the sky that look after all the people,
Turn their eyes upon yourself.
Watch the eyes in the sky turn upon you.
Watch your armies turn their swords upon you.

They were sworn to protect you.
Now they inject you with their chemicals.
They cut you with their blades.
And they bind you with their chains.
Can you still wave your flag as the machine presses on?
Can you wave it in the air?

Watch the eyes in the sky that have turned upon you,
Start thinking for themselves.
Watch the machine press on
Watch your machine press on.

They were sworn to protect you.
Now they inject you with their chemicals.
And they cut you with their blades.
And they bind you with their chains.
Can you still wave your flag as the machine presses on?
Covered in blood, sweat and oil.
Tattered and torn.
Can you wave it?
Will you wave it?

Like this. You eloquently express widely-held anxieties. Another good protest song - are you Woody Guthrie's grandson??

Flag of pride and justice, that of which we were born.
The flag has seen it all, and it still stands erect.

What a deep poem.It applies to almost every country,at some point in time.I love the last line, 'Will you wave it?' It's very provocative.
