Fray

A Poem by Perri
"

This is a simple regurgitation of jumbled thoughts =)

"

My name is Masochism,

And I pound on the windows of your dark,

Echoing thuds on tinted glass.

Can't you hear me?  I'm right here...

I knock your doors of unwholesome thoughts,

Reach my hands through your letterboxes,

Lurk under your eaves.

You lay, deaf, intent on ignorance.

As I cling to your windowsills,

Climb the gutters of your morbid,

Console your abhorrent, grisly, ghastly,

Sickly feelings.

Bridge the dismal distance,

Between intolerable dark,

and 'it'll be okay'.

All encompassing blindfold on your eyes

Guiding your path to obstacles.

The promise broken is worse than to have never promised at all.

And yes, I know the right promises to make to twist you around the little finger of your fate.

While I reside in those dark corners the light can't reach,

Watching over you,

Think of me, rescuing you from the world,

Protecting you from the let downs and abuse.

If you have no hope then there is truly nothing to lose.

When there is nothing to lose you can be free to loiter in the alleyways of life,

The roadhouses of fear

and the cosy familiar cottages of despair.

My name is Masochism, and I have made you a home.

Hmmm, very interesting! Your vocabulary selection I found very poetic and vivid. The imagery you use is quite tangible. I like to ask people what their interpretation of their own work is, as everyone can see different meanings in the same piece. So what do you perceive in this writing?

Very powerful!
Greatly penned poem. I don't know what to say but you nailed it greatly with the imagery of Masochism. I have nothing against masochists but sometimes i don't understand their unusual acceptance of pain.
