Addiction took you

Addiction took you

A Poem by Drew Peterson
"

i lost a really good friend to a drug over dose. he was a brother to me. R.i.P

"

snort, smoke, jab a vain, drink to feel high in the sky like a cloud.

so high in the sky you never wanted to come down from those feelings

packing your pipe, filling that syringe that warm wave strikes you like

the hot sun dose to you in the middle of summer

You take that the thin plastic scraping across that mirror.

Hearing you sniffing in deep into your cold skinny body

You sit there and look around

Acting like that empty shell...

if sit there next you make sure your safe

sitting there crying on the in side

asking what happen to my child

hood friend...

Sad write, and touching that your quote in the beginning is a memory of your friend. This is touching and real, I like the ending, the past does seem to linger at times.
