Dear government

Dear government

A Poem by DreyaArt
"

just some thoughts

"

Dear Government,

Who are you to decide for us

how we raise our children?

Wether we should give them cough syrup

when they're sick.

Or how to disaplin them.

There sure are lines,

But let us decide where they are.

Dear Government,

Who are you to tell us who we can love?

Wether we choose a man

if we are men,

or a woman if we are

women.

Or if one of us is a man,

and the other is a woman.

Who are you to decide what is right?

Dear Government,

When you wake up in the morning,

do you look in the mirror

and practice your speeches?

To win the hearts of the people,

and then stab them in the back?

Who are you to tell us how to live our lives?

How do you live

with your hearts?

Dear Government,

We should be free

as you say that we are.

But then you put rules on our households,

you tell us we MUST cut our lawns

on certain days.

You tell us to alter our animals

so they will suit your laws.

You tell us that our pets are people,

when infact they are not.

You tell us that money

is the only key to happiness.

That the only means of

education

is the "higher education" that you provide.

You tell our children

that if they are born with

a "disability"

that they need special treatment.

You say that children

are no longer innocent.

That they must grow up before their times.

You tell us that drugs

are the only way to stay healthy.

And that certain people

are less equal then others.

You try to say that religious people

have special rights,

and those of us who have faiths

belong to a discrimination

group.

You decide that you have the final say

on what is right in our lives.

That single mothers who happen to be prostitutes

and single Moms need her

children taken away.

When infact she may have no other option.

You say that Dads who leave their wives and families

must pay childsupport or be arrested

even if he does not have the means.

You tell us that you will decide wether it is

appropriate wether a gay couple can have kids.

And say that if they do they will never be

normal,

you say normal is what we want.

When infact you have no

idea

what we want.

We want equality,

and

freedom of speech.

We want freedom to love,

and

be loved.

We want the ability to raise our children,

and

not be questioned.

We want to be who we are,

and

not worry about your idea of "normal".

We want you to stop

suppressing

our

ideas,

by telling us yours is the only way.

We want our children

to grow up to be who they

want to be

not what you say they should be.

And we want you

to experience

what it is

to be

at

the

bottom.

awesome piece

Brilliant piece, well said indeed, the government is full of empty promises and bullsh*t. Lovely way of conveying such opinions, you turned your thoughts into art. The last sentence sums up the piece flawlessly. Well done!
