Agony

Agony

A Poem by Désiré Desrosiers

It hurts.

It doesn’t feel good, right?

But,

feeling pain reminds you you’re alive,

and being alive is good,

isn’t it?

Life is the best thing in the world,

am I right?

Therefore,

pain is good,

is it not?

Pain is what makes us alive,

whether it be physical or mental,

in the end,

it hurts.

That

is the symbol of living.

This is what separates the living from the dead.

The dead are dead for a reason.

They die when they’ve been through enough pain in life.

All the pain in life

ends when fate decides it is enough.

“Allow the kiss of death to end your suffering.”

Life is a balance of pleasure and pain. With death also comes the inability to smell a flower or lay back on the grass and daydream while watching the clouds roll by. Pleasure and pain can both cloud the mind if they are not simply viewed as momentary. Obviously the agony of endless physical or emotional pain is something else.

The paragraphs are fine.
