Ghosts & Ink

Ghosts & Ink

A Poem by Breezie Kae
"

Written during freshman year.

"

Feelings never felt

and all the lies never said;

lying to yourself.

The feelings that left

stinging on a blank canvas,

for it was never there.

Waiting for moments

and writing poetic words;

you wish to feel full.

And never did blood

or fake substitutes for love

bring the bliss I lost.

And when did I try;

but to imagine trying

I convinced myself.

And what did it bring

and why would I ever sing

about ghosts and ink?

Because now, sitting

and shifting around my thoughts,

I felt but not saw.

But in the end, now

that’s all I ever wanted;

to master my word.

You create many images with your words. I believe we can put the ghosts into a book with words on a sheet of paper. I like the total poem. I like the ending. Sometimes words are the only peace we can feel in a life. A excellent poem.
