![]() Dreams for a GalaxyA Poem by Breezie Kae![]() Written during the summer between sophomore and junior year.![]()
It’s softer than me but it’s so out of reach, so let me sit back, listen now as you teach me about failure, perfect time to start, a play on words and you can’t get far. So fake it again, become someone you’re not, you’re not too good but you won’t get caught. You think you’re a lion but you are a lamb, but I won’t let you tell me the person I am. I can’t see without my perspective today. I want to go too far, be where the stars are. I want to burn out there; friction in the air. I want to let peace go, for the stories you don’t know. I want to find somewhere with some moments to share. So let’s get this straight now, you say that I am in charge of this future, it seems like some scam. But you see I have more faith than you realize, I guess I just can’t help this state of mind. So back away now, the wave’s coming again, the last thing I want is to lose a friend. But you know that you can’t help but see that it’s me, when I’m lying awake, charcoal stains on my teeth. So there you go, suck out my marrow again. I want to go too far, be where the stars are. I want to burn out there; friction in the air. I want to let peace go, for the stories you don’t know. I want to find somewhere with some moments to share. And I know someday I’ll escape. Yeah, I know somehow I’ll find some way. How does it feel to be alive, when you’re given one more try. I want to go too far, be where the stars are. I want to burn out there; friction in the air. I want to let peace go, for the stories you don’t know. I want to find somewhere with some moments to share. © 2010 Breezie Kae |
