My Affair, Relinquished

My Affair, Relinquished

A Poem by Breezie Kae

By the time I come to share

my own personal love affair,

wasting time, yet it's not fair:

My comfort is extinguished.

My self-worth is being broken

beyond my own words spoken,

beyond my heart's due token:

Today has been diminished.

Yet I was happy before

and I still wanted everything more,

so maybe I'm not waiting for

my pain to be relinquished.

I think this was a good piece. It's true some things can't be relinquished you will carry things with you for the rest of your life. You will never be able to get over everything. This is a good poem though. Thanks for sharing.

Something are never to be relinquished. We need to hold on to them. I could feel the emotion to remember and yearning to forget. A excellent poem. A gentle and kind poem.
