Ghost with beating heart

Ghost with beating heart

A Poem by Cheavel DeLuna

The mask is steal. The mask is stone.

Covering up,

the soft underneath.

The fragile glass, that wears away,

from batter of words,

and thoughts

astray.

The mask is deceiving, convincing,

protecting.

With time it seeps, and melds

with you.

Hardening, toughening

your soft inside.

Numb.

You fade away.

Wash away,

with tides of oceans,

so fast, so strong.

Untill there is nothing left.

Just empty shell.

Pretty cases.

Really interesting poem :) The mask is almost a desensitisation element here :) Eventually that mask will fade, reality can be better at times behind it lol
I love this xx
