Lost in Space

Lost in Space

A Poem by Steve Salvatore
"

Ya know, just watching too much sci-fi and doing too much thinking.

"
Oxygen...dwindling...
Nothing...but black...

Panic...kindling...
Suffering...from lack...

Monsters...boarded...
Hoarded...fell back...

Starship...destroyed...
Deployed...intact...

Fangs...slicing...
Slashing...distract...

Door...sealing...
Turning...my back...

Blood...coated...
Bloated...a sack...

Bodies...mutilated...
Severed...a hack...

Loneliness...piercing...
Fading...to black...
