Time Is Ugly

Time Is Ugly

A Poem by Dustin Reichmuth
"

I always hear an orchestra somewhere when I'm writing.

"
I've been staying up late.
Trying to find my head space, and complicate.
Decisions and the ramifications, taunting me.
I've been losing sleep late.
Trying to break the barrier here now.
Tired of these accusations, here's a demonstration.

I've looked out the window, one too many times.
I've broken my own glass, with way too many rhymes.
Caught beneath a boulder, and here I'll sit.
Buried beneath the weight, I've had it.

Time is such, an ugly girl.
It moves along from lover to lover,
No care in the world.
Patience is such an absent thing.
Checks into to the hotel without a ring.
And there I will see her.
We've crucified this love, now let it burn.

I've looked out the window, one too many times.
I've broken my own glass, with way too many rhymes.
Caught beneath a boulder, and here I'll sit.
Buried beneath the weight, I've had it.

Glass and drink go hand in hand.
It's your ball, why not pick the band.
I've created such, an ugly land.
Now I'll try, to open the portal to back again.

Good imagery and melody, the first stanza(/verse) is wonderful, the words are poignant and raw with the honesty of a confused buzzing head desperate to clutch something in empty grasp. Nice rhythm.
