Ode to the President and Country

 

In case you haven’t heard from your local or national news

A new president has been elected

And aside from anyone’s views

Our president is black

But maybe I neglected

To mention that ignorance is already planning their attack

With attempts to crush America’s dream

It would seem

That ignorance doesn’t want to see progression

They want to continue to live in this recession

I wish they would take the enthusiasm out of their aggression

And put it in to the change that has come

Instead of being the one

Who keeps our society in the 60’s

 

How I sit eager, to hear the first State of the Union address

Patiently waiting to see him help us clean up this mess

But incase you haven’t received the latest press

History has been made

And America has played

A dramatic roll in fact

Directly contributing to the election of a new president and he just happens to be black

So let that read across the headlines for no longer then a week

Then lets get past his color

And focus on the issue at hand

And let’s forget about the past 8 years

And let’s stand by this man

He said change will come

Well with the election done

Let’s not sit and wait

Let’s get out and make one

A change

Because silence is senseless

And a voice speaks a difference

I agree totally with your sntiments my friend The nation has chosen this man as its new leaderwhat doe it matter he is of mixed race.The time for change was overdue. Now it is up to the people to back their elected leader in his efforts to clean up the mess he has inherited
