Past Tense

Past Tense

A Poem by WayzWithWordz

Fall

Fell

I throw an “e” in the middle to throw it back in time

Pain that stain my memory

It’s funny how agony remembers me

You never realize you fell until you are greeted by pain

It’s funny how love works

Once you get past that, then in come the perks

But if you cry, then you’ve cried

And if you look back on life then you’ve died

There is only a millisecond difference between now and then

But if you are happy

Then you are just that

There is no past tense

Because when you are happy

You forget about every instance

That made you sad, mad, or frustrated

It is funny how love works

Because once you get past the past, then in come the perks
