Mid-Day 9/11

Mid-Day 9/11

A Poem by WayzWithWordz

Mid-Day 9/11

It would be safe to say

That earlier today

I felt in a way

Similar to the United 93 passengers on September 10

Without a care in the world

But the 11th ,for me, came mid day

Now I feel the sorrow of the families who lost, the day after

And begins a new chapter

As emotions collide like steel in motion and stationary concrete

Setting fire to my soul

Burning a hole

For wishes to escape, jumping to their deaths

And at the depths

Of this eruption lie people watching hopelessly

As a once strong temple crumble before their eyes

And a breathless cloud arise

Taking away the vision

Now my conscious is on a mission

Fighting a battle that cannot be won

Led by one

Man without a clue

My emotional state seems all too familiar to you

Before the morning clock reached eleven

I have already went through a mid-day 9/11

This poem will be a memorial

And editorial

Of an unforgettable sunrise

A day that my head fell and my spirits fail to rise

And poems published on this day

Will be nothing but relentless tries

To make every thing okay

Lord have mercy on my soul, on this tragic day

loved the rhyme and flow in this. Some great word choices that gave me a mental spark- ooo i like that

Of an unforgettable sunrise
A day that my head fell and my spirits fail to rise

Before the morning clock reached eleven
I have already went through a mid-day 9/11

As a once strong temple crumble before their eyes
And a breathless cloud arise

I watched a documentary of sorts shortly after 9/11 following the lives of those who lost someone in the attack. What struck me down like the towers themselves was watching a little child outside of her home screaming for her mommy and crying.. her family crumbling to pieces next to her.. what words could you possibly say to a child in that moment when you yourself are grasping for solid ground. Still feels like yesterday...

this is a great expression of that day. Well done.
