Land of The Lost - Where the Gentlemen Live

Land of The Lost - Where the Gentlemen Live

A Poem by Dye
"

True Gentlemen

"

In a place long forgotten
Far, far away
Men are true
And live that way

The gentlemen there
Are born and bred
They admire your vision
But cherish your head

A land of respect
And values so high
Where morals have meaning
And ethics don't die

It's a place, that all men
Undoubtedly should explore
Where men are real men
And know to adore

Shaped and molded
From a different cast
Where promises are made
And made to last

Where doors are magically
Always held open
And words like "I love you"
Are easily spoken

They laugh at your jokes
They play and they tease
Make your heart patter
And weaken your knees

Where did I meet
My hubby you say?
He came from a place
Far, far away

Author's Note

Dye
Just a little something. Feeling *warm fuzzies* today for my hubby who is a true gentlemen in every way.

I had the pleasure of meeting a true gentlemen at the Cafe' last night; who within the first minute of meeting me, told me how much he adored his wife and family. It was nice to have something like that in common. There is something to be said for the men that say something so special about their spouse even when they are not around to listen. Bravo Tate!-- Not sure if you will ever see this, but you my friend are a class act.

You are a lucky woman, I've met such men, and I even thought I was marrying one, but nope not so :P This was very sweet, and made me smile.

Thank you. I am happy to have brought a smile to your face :)
Yes Dye, we can give our lovers the fantasy they deserve. Not all the time, but some of the time...
The sword has two edges and both parties could enjoy life more if they remembered to be kind to each other.
This goes very well with the other poem I just read... A great pairing of contrasting taste, but a delight to enjoy when there is such a balance.

People tend to forget how much "being nice" can get you. This poem is more me than the other one ;)
Dye, nicely spoken. On the counter part, real women still enjoy and appreciate those things. Nice to here it and know about it being part of your life. Wonderful, wonderful.....

Oh what an uplifting poem..... "Where promises are made and made to last" my favorite line :) And yes i guess men are quite different nowadays, regardless thought, if that is not the kind of love and respect i would get from my Hubby, I'd rather not have it at all.

Thank you Betty...its important to have standards. Glad you liked it.
Your poem speaks two truths, one is that this is the way it should be and the other truth is, this is not seen that often anymore. Though if you look, it is still out there. To be nice to someone you care about should be an easy thing, if your feelings are true, it is for me. Very nicely done

Dye, you do know that your first image is from the movie "The Painted Veil", in which the lead male, played by Edward Norton, has a wife played by Naomi Watts, who cheats on him and to punish her, he drags her to China, and subsequently he dies of Cholera. o.o It just throws the poem out of kilter, somewhat. Also in stanza four it should be, "it's a place".

I fear that most of the real men are no longer around, and that some of the ones that are, hide in a closet afraid to show they are real men. But a few of them exsist...I for one am ashamed I am not. But it sounds like Tate is, my hat goes off to your Hubby and Tate...bravo gentlemen bravo.
