DEAD POETS

DEAD POETS

A Poem by Eagle Cruagh
"

just listen you will hear them

"
DEAD  POETS

Listen
Hear the whisper
Of  those who know
For we shall learn
They are here and will never go

What is it we do not understand
Listen to those who passed
Those who have left our land
Those voices out of eternity
Pleading for us to listen

All the pestilence we endure
They discussed it then
Those distant voices
And their whispers are still pure
In this misty  frothy atmosphere

Voices deep from within the grave
Remind  us  pleading
We still can save
Our land our souls
All we need dead poets is to listen
They are the only ones who know

Hello!
I have never reviewed one of your poems. I am here as I have just read a review of one of Pratibha's poems that she is currently featuring, so I thought I would check out one of your writes.
The dead poets indeed have much to tell us, yet we often choose to listen with closed hearts and minds, as we allow that which could become better remain dead and stagnant with them. Plans and ideals of the past were perhaps at times the solution to a great riddle, or a problem of humanity. It is sad that mankind can be so stubborn and unyielding! We can but place our hope in the future!
An excellent write with much food for thought!

I came back to continue with my review now that I know precisely what you meant by DEAD POETS...
It is indeed sad that the new generation is so shallow...self centered thoughts, so many self destructive thoughts going around...and yet they won't learn from the heritage and from our ancestors who wrote such lovely poems which have the capacity to move us even today...and which have the power to transform us inside out, if we will allow them to enter our soul which is unfortunately guarded by false sense of grandeur...!

Your poem carries the torch of the ancestors. The pastoral imagery stages an alluring and brilliantly respective path. Blessings, Sabine*

When reading this, I imagined the poem being recited over a campfire in an ancient whisper, and the wind passes by carrying the voice of the dead poets.
Excellent poem! The strong imagery helps deliver a haunting mood and overall great poem.
Cheers.

I sooo wish I was as eloquent as you are with regards to writing reviews. I am not, so all I can do is try to tell you how I feel after reading this beautiful, thoughtful and completely true piece. Your words have painted pictures in my mind. Of all the old bards....shaking their heads in thier frustration and sadness at our modern society as a whole. I can hear them saying in unison...almost a chant...almost a prayer...almost a command: Love one another....Love is the key....love....love...love...EXPRESS YOUR LOVE! If all humankind could just do this one simple thing....
I am listening, John. To their old and ancient rhymes, but ESPECIALLY to yours. Thank you for this. ...
MY favorite. ;0)
