Trolling Song

Trolling Song

A Poem by Eponymous Anonymous

In the town where I was born
there lived a girl so fair
that if you chanced to look at her
you’d see she wasn’t there.
        troll-la troll-la troll-la
        troodle-oodle-ee
        rumble bumble gobbledygook
        fiddle-dee diddle-dee dee!

In the town where I was raised
there lived a girl so smart
that she could talk for days on end
and never even start.
        troll-la troll-la troll-la
        troodle-oodle-oh
        ingy-pingy dumbledy-doo
        ee-aye ee-aye-oh!

In the town where I was schooled
there lived a girl so fast
that she could leave to-morrow
but she’d get there in the past.
        troll-la troll-la troll-la
        troodle-oodle-eye
        gorple-lorple loopa-dee-dah
        grumpledy rumpledy-rye!

In the town where I now work
there lives a girl so tall
that she would never hit the ground
if she should trip and fall.
        troll-la troll-la troll-la
        troodle-oodle-ay
        eenie meenie miney-mo
        giddy-i ziddy-i-zay!

In the town where I’ll retire
there’ll live a girl so old
that she’ll remember ten years thence
or at least so I’ll have been told.
        troll-la troll-la troll-la
        troodle-oodle-oo
        blunder wonder dunder-dee
        poodle-y doodle-y-doo!

In the town where I shall die
there’ll live a girl so kind
that if a burglar stole her brain
she wouldn’t even mind.
        troll-la troll-la troll-la
        troodle-oodle-oy
        soggy doggy diggery-doo
        paddle-y raddle-y roy!

This is wit and whimsy at the same time. Loved it.
