Wings

Wings

A Poem by Elizabeth Maguire
"

Who are your wings?

"
The wings take me away
The wings hold me close
Who are these wings?

Their soft velvet touch
Their strong, sweet smell
Who are these wings?

I find comfort here
Just me and them
Who are these wings I ask again

You are the wings
You are my home
I have found my wings
Now never let go

The wings seem to be a person that feels complete. Very good read. I enjoyed the way you worded your poem.

"I don't normally do poems," and DARN that some people prefer the lesser read stories here.
You obvious sport talent in both arenas, and I'll be back because I'm a fan of swimming words that force their way unto paper.

Thanks for sharing this 100/100.

I love your use of "wings" as an analogy for many things. Some will think of this in the literal way it's written, such as a special person in one's life . . . for me, it's mostly the idea of God & how He lifts me up when I'm damn sure I can't fly. But it can also be any song or poem or flower that launches us into a little stretch of soaring above life's usual pains & frustrations. Good job.

Yes it is and thank you
Lovely, I think it has a smooth flow that gives a feeling of peaceful journey in the air with invisible wings... We have some special people in our life who become our wings to take us to that place where we dream of going... Very well done frnd... Keep on writing more and more...

Sincerely
Dhiman

I like the metaphor of “wings.” People can lift us to where we belong. Wait a minute, I think that's a song lyric. Anyway, good poem.

I didn't realize that was a song lyric, it sounds poetic though. Thank you for the feedback :)
